about CAMP WILDSIDE

AT CAMP LYLE MCLEOD • WA

The serene and secluded setting of Camp Lyle Mcleod, far from busy city sounds, is the wonderful backdrop for Wildside Community Camp. This Girl Scouts of Western Washington facility is located on Lake Bennettson, near Belfair, Washington. The camp's 160 acres of pine, hemlock and fir forest surround Lake Bennettsen.

Camp Wildside is a one-week overnight Girl Scout resident camp led by community volunteers every summer. Each year is celebrated with a new theme, fun activities, and friendship. During the week, campers can find age-appropriate opportunities for leadership, growth, & connection!

The Wildside Community Camp is open to any camper entering the 2nd through 12th grade in the fall. Campers are assigned to Units according to grade level, and spend the week camping with peers. All of the camp units are located around the lake and a relatively level 1-1/2 mile trail encircles the lake connecting each of the nine village units.

The camp offers opportunities for swimming, boating and crafts. Archery is offered to 4th grade campers and above. The camp is staffed entirely by volunteers who provide a safe and fun camp experience for a wild range of girls. Adult unit counselors oversee each unit, that is comprised of a cook shelter, a fire circle and sleeping cabins.

All adult volunteers are trained in Girl Scout policies and procedures as well as in outdoor camping skills.
